The TL;DR
We made a Packaging & Design Directory. This is a Notion database filled with inspiration on packaging, design details, and beautifully designed products.
Our goal is to keep this directory category-agnostic as we focus on how physical goods are used as a form of self-expression.
We will update this directory regularly, so check back for updates.
Why we made a packaging directory
The idea of "chaos packaging" went mainstream a few weeks ago — a phrase my friend Michael coined, and then this video went viral back in May. Now, it seems the media have picked up this concept and run with it, from online to print and even on the Today Show.
And it's a good reminder of how far ahead you are if you read this newsletter if you’re a part of the community exchanging ideas and building on them, pushing back on what they don’t believe, and sharing.
We see this all the time, from oversized objects now getting called out in Substacks 6m after our initial videos to the announcement videos we called out becoming a new default.
We'll obviously always keep our HYPER family ahead of the curve.
This is our goal, culture, the speed at which it's actually moving, and the resources needed to truly move on the front end of the adoption curve.
Through the dozens of brand workshops and in-person events we do with brands small and large, and the building we do ourselves in media and product, the real value lies in sharing predictions and working with those around us to see what sticks, what works, and ask why.
In 2025, we’re betting on a few more things to lead the charge on the consumer front:
Short-form content that heavily focuses on human emotion
Short-form content, but made for older demographics
The rise of curation and editorial as a part of brand marketing teams (as brands work to make their newsletters better and build worlds around their social)
Collectives of creators and influencers working together for brands and on campaigns
