How to know when a meme is cooked
What happened last week
This week, Oren did a deep dive on creative direction trends on YouTube, Clayton talked about the art direction on Kith x Columbia, and Oren gave a glimpse at the idea of commerce as a natural extension of art.
If you want an invite code to the new moodboarding app Cosmos, we have a few left using the invite code DESIGN.

Work with creators like it’s 2024
A few weeks ago, we talked about the importance of making tools for content creators and brands that they actually use. The problem with many eCommerce / creator economy tools is that they often don’t solve a problem that exists—they find problems that don’t exist.
But, Superfiliate is rewriting the playbook in this space.
Creating a product that allows both brands to co-promote their collabs and product launches in a compelling way is 100% the future of commerce.
They’ve built a seamless product that plugs into your Shopify store, leveraging your existing integrations (email, sms, subscription, attribution, etc.), and enables brands and creators to win together. So, this week wanted to spotlight our favorite examples from their customers.
Chamberlain Coffee
Why we like it:
The IG-style grid and 5-star reviews as a way of creating a more relatable, human touch. The social-first approach also puts less pressure on cool aspirational imagery, and instead focuses on the social proof of the product.
MUD\WTR
Why we like it:
Built-in payment pages for products, tailored with custom discounts from the creator that is promoting the product. The old way of doing commerce had users visit a site, get bombarded with popups, and click five pages deep before reaching the product page. This is social commerce at its best—simplifying steps in the purchase process.
Fatty15
Why we like it:
Might sound simple, but even if the customer is watching an influencer’s video with a swipe-up CTA to a product, they’re likely to have questions about that product. So, embedding them directly into the page keeps the experience and thoughtful. They’re more likely to purchase if their questions are answered in one place.
If you’re a brand that relies on influencer programs as a key growth strategy or a creator who constantly runs partnerships for brands, this is honestly one of the dopest eComm tools you can leverage on the market.
Check the Superfiliate website and see what they’re up to. Next time, we’ll build our own mockup landing page, and show you our playbook for how we’d work with creators.
Athleticwear Factories
This week, we have factories of all types to get you started making activewear and athleisure. And all of them have no polyester options 🫡
- A good starter, off-the-shelf, low MOQ activewear option: BNH.
- A great recommended go-to option for a new scaling brand production: Arabella.
How to know when a meme is cooked
Memes are built into our shared internet vernacular, something creators, people and brands alike increasingly engage with, something whose power, weaponized... has more potential than any other piece of content.
This tweet a few weeks ago accentuates there is no great place to track memes and check what's happening in the world…
And so this week, I am making a modest attempt at including what I saw this newsletter, and the exercise of tracking them is a testament to just how brutally fast the internet moves.
You want to feel like a week is actually a month? Try to keep track of memes for your newsletter, because this exercise aged me ;)

We are also introducing the HYPER “torched-meter” for whether a meme can still be participated in or its too far gone, 1 has potential, 10 don’t touch.
Torched meter - 5 - Big corporates are posting, which is a bad sign, but it’s also a beautiful art piece and overall positive so we’re gonna let it live.

This is the rare case of the brand friendly content trend.
This content format has been on fire the last month. Someone walking by gets tripped, and their phone gets its audio swapped, it gets used to charge a transaction, or perhaps even an outfit swap.
